Parashar Agri & Culture Tourism, Junnar
an unique place for agritourism, ecotourism, culture tourism & understanding India.
Agriculture is not only farming, its culture of human beings. Though India is agrarian country unfortunately there is huge gap between India & BHARAT which is increasing gradually. Being born in farmer’s family, after studying post graduate in agriculture, working for farmer’s suicide issue with NABARD bank & resigning the permanent job from state bank of India, in 2011, I came to my native place, Rajuri a small village in Pune to contribute in bridging the gap between India & BHARAT.
While studying how old is this agriculture as culture, I came across with India’s 1st agriculture scientist Sage Parashara, who wrote 1st manuscript on agriculture in India by name “Krushi Parashara”. We have decided to start a place where urban people can come to know about agriculture, to experience the agriculture, to learn about source of food & respect the farmer & farming, to know about rural culture, to know about Bharat, to study stake holders of rural economy.
4th Sept 2011 is the opening day of Parashar Agri & Culture tourism which has developed with mortgage of my house. Parashar agritourism is community tourism model where farmers are involved in it, Design is based on natural material, additionally local vendors, and self help groups, artisans, folk artists also benefited. That’s why OUTLOOK TRAVELLER enlisted us 1st in India’s top 10 rural tourism centers in 2012 in October rural day’s special issue. All people want to migrate towards cities but through this model we have proved that educated youths can create an employment in villages with very responsible way. This type of tourism is not ordinary one; it helps you to find yourself & brings values of life in living. All this story we have presented in responsible tourism India 2016, and we were in top 10 players. With responsible tourism award, this thought will spread all over India & people can replicate at their place.

have focused on responsible tourism with sincere efforts. We have strictly
banned non veg meal, alcohol consumption & smoking at our premises. We are
not using plastic at our place & developed a library for guests to know about
rural culture. We have displayed rural accessories in museum form to make aware
the guests about rural culture. Secondly we have an art gallery where different
local and rural art forms are displayed. We have a counter for sale of fresh
agriculture produce of nearer farmers and products designed by self help
groups. We have designed our center conceptually based on culture tourism so
